cupcake cutie {CT baby photographer}

As promised earlier this week, here are some fun shots of birthday girl Adah with her cupcake!  She is the best cupcake eater I have seen.  She ate the ENTIRE thing…even finding crumbs on the floor (Don’t worry, mom washed the floor!).  She even spent quality time licking frosting off of her fingers.  She went directly from the successful cake eating right into the bathtub!  And are those not the most gorgeous eyes?!?!?!  Thank you Adah for entertaining me with your supreme cupcake skills!

This weekend I had the pleasure of meeting this beautiful little girl.  Helena was not so sure about me at first but I like to think that maybe we ended up as friends.  Nothing like a little bit of fruit snacks between friends, right?  The day was gorgeous and we wandered all around Avery Point, playing with pebbles and smelling flowers with her mom and auntie.   Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

My brother and his family were out for a visit and we had plans of a cousins photo session.  Well, they happened to be here right during all of that rain and flooding.  No outdoor session for us – we will have to wait until we are back in Michigan in June.  I did take some photos in Foxwoods just for fun.   Ayden is 12 and Aria just turned 10 this weekend!  Hannah and Leah had so much fun with their cousins and can’t wait to see them again.  You may recognize them from last summer!

Daddy is coming home {CT family photographer}

I have been struggling with this post because I was trying to pick 3 or 4 photos to represent the photo session.  I changed my mind so many times.  Finally, I decided this session’s story couldn’t be told with a few photos.  I hope you enjoy part 1 and come back for part 2.

I had the wonderful opportunity to share a very special day with this family.  Today, Daddy was coming home.  Adam has been gone for 8 months on the U.S.S. Miami.  While I often thought of the men and women serving our country, I admit I didn’t often think of their families.  Since moving to this area, I have met many wonderful Navy families and am in awe of their strength.  8 months…or as one mom explained to her child that day…Mr. Adam had been gone since the Easter Bunny had visited and was home just in time for Santa’s visit. I know Christy didn’t get much sleep the night before and the two little girls, Cally and Lucy, were all dressed up to welcome Daddy home.

We started out the day at Eastern Point Beach to chase the submarine in.  It was so exciting to see the submarine as a speck on the horizon.  We watched as the tug boats led the submarine down the river towards the naval base.

After the USS Miami passed Eastern Point, we headed down to the Naval Base. It was so heartwarming to see all of the families on base waiting for their loved ones. We were able to watch the tug boats lead the sub in. As a special surprise Santa showed up and led all of the daddies and husbands home. There was lots of flag waving, noisemakers and signs. Everyone was anxiously anticipating the securing of the sub and the opening of the pier to family. Check out Lucy’s Daddy doll…is that not the cutest idea ever?
