Green and turquoise work really well together but I also love the addition of grey to this ensemble. Remember to dress your family to their personalities. Your son thinks of himself as a cool skater dude – embrace it. You have one girly girl and one tomboy – let that show in your photos. These are your memories…and while you might like to have your family dressed as you would have chosen it…it will be more meaningful years from now if they look like themselves at that point in time. That being said, my little one wears a different Dora shirt everyday…seriously, no joke. She will not be wearing Dora for family photos anytime soon…you have to draw the line somewhere!
Yes, it is almost spring but it is still cold out there…or at least here! Here are some chilly weather suggestions with cozy sweaters, cute jackets and long sleeves. For our family photos this year, we went with a purple and grey theme with jeans…I love the splashes of blue and turquoise in these outfits!
People often ask me what to wear to their sessions and I reply that I love a coordinated but not identical look. The days of everyone wearing the same exact outfit are gone. This is your chance to express your personality and the different personalities of your family. The way I usually start is by dressing one person and building the look from there. I used to tell clients to start with one of the kids (usually if you have a girl that is the easiest place to start). Pick a cute outfit and then coordinate the colors of the rest of the family. But after the stress of dressing my family for our own session this past fall, I realized that the first outfit that you should be concerned about is your own. Let’s face it…you want to look fabulous in the photos too! Pick something that fits well and makes you feel incredible…it will show in your images. Here is an example of one way to dress a family. I love the brown and pink palette!!! I plan to post more suggestions once or twice a month…so check back on Wednesdays!!! I can totally see that adorable dress on one of my girls!

This travel cup does NOT leak…at all…even when dropped on concrete. And better yet Contigo makes travel cups for kids…and guess what?…they don’t leak either. The other thing I love about the kid version is that they drink from it like a regular cup…no straws, no sports tops…you just push the button and drink…like normal. I will say for those thinking about trying the kid’s cups…it did take my two year old a little bit of time to master it…but my four year old mastered it day 1.
