When Maren contacted me to do a special shoot for her, I was so excited. She wanted to use a photo to announce her pregnancy to friends and family. I can’t take any credit for the cute Christmas themed idea that she came up with to share the news of their baby girl but it is adorable! And can I just say she is beautiful and glowing. Greg and Maren of course had to include their first “baby” – Apollo – in the photos as well. I love how he is looking right at her belly…which might have to do with a treat hidden in the hat…

FINALLY! This sneak peek has been a long time coming (but no baby isn’t here yet – I am not that late!) Right after this session, my family moved from NYC back to CT. Then we were back in NYC for two weeks before school started and I was lacking a computer since my computer now resides in CT. When I came back to CT, Irene decided to pay us a visit and we were without power for almost 7 days. We were so excited to have it back on only to lose it for another 10 hours a day later. It has been a wild ride but I am finally getting back to the grind.
Jessica is one of my closest friends and I was thrilled that one of my trips back home to Kalamazoo coincided with a time that I could shoot a maternity session with her. Big brother Nathan joined us for a little while before bedtime. We had beautiful light in her back yard and had a fabulous time catching up. The bottom center shot was not staged…this was an actual moment caught by chance as I was setting Jess up for some silhouette shots. Nathan ran right over with “flowers” for mom. LOVE. I can’t wait to meet Pepper when she arrives – nicknamed Pepper for spicy food cravings!
Happy Mother’s Day to all of my wonderful mommy clients! A little slideshow to celebrate some of the beautiful mama-to-be/mom/child shots from the year!
I have decided to post some of my favorite images from the year that were not previously posted to the blog. This session was my favorite maternity to date. I have so many favorites from this session and Stacy and Sean were so fun to work with. The best part was being able to go back and photograph their newborn session – you will likely see Greyson make an appearance this week too.
And for fun – a random NYC observation…90% of the the adults in this city wear black coats. Seriously. I really want one of those long down coats that everyone has on – they look so warm, and it has been cold and windy.
FYI – my current coat is RED. I fit in well!
No offense to all of my previous mamas-to-be but I think this was my favorite maternity session yet! Stacy and Sean were up for anything and we had a lot of fun (even amidst skunks, an intoxicated dancing lady on the beach and two weddings). We were at one of my favorite locations from last fall – Harkness State Park. I have to say it is completely gorgeous in the summer as well!
Here is your rather large sneak peek because I couldn’t choose my favorites!
