Chasing Moments Blog Circle {Kalamazoo Lifestyle Photographer}

I can’t believe it has been a whole month since our last Chasing Moments Blog Circle. If you missed it last month, I am participating in a blog circle with some fabulous ladies who are also committing to capturing their children. Sometimes as I capture these moments, they are solitary moments…a peek into our life, a single shot. At other times, I collect these moments and this collection becomes a story. Enjoy my stories below!

The first bike ride of the year. Hannah, in her new helmet provided by the school, remembering how to ride on two wheels and Leah gaining confidence on 4 wheels before we remove the training wheels this summer.

Our first spring hike with Lexi. Yes, I said spring…it is Michigan…sometimes spring means winter jackets and hats.

Our belated Easter egg dying since we spent our spring break in NYC and CT. I don’t know that sponge painting was any less messy than dipping in dye but they had a lot of fun. I love the chipped finger nail polish.

Be sure to continue thru our circle and see how my amazing friends have chased this month. Next up is Kimberly of Fanciful Photography.

Visiting the Portage Public Library {Kalamazoo family photographer}

I haven’t had a chance yet to blog about an amazing online workshop that I participated in that was taught by Deanna McCasland…but this mini session with my kids was inspired by her work and her willingness to pull out “the big camera” even in public places like the library and the grocery store.  Seriously she has the most amazing photos of her kids in Target.  Last weekend the girls and I spent about an hour at the Portage Public Library…Leah immediately goes to pick out books so she can then go play the Dora game on the computers.  We have a nice collection of Dora books and Frog and Toad books in her pile…along with a purple folder full of early reader books.  I love how our library has these folders of leveled books…they have suggested grade levels as well as a numbered level system.  Leah is currently reading the Kindergarten level books.  Hannah explores a little more before choosing.  She chose some Nate the Greats, Barbie chapter books (who knew they made those?), Ivy and Bean, Cam Jansen and some others.  I believe we checked out over 20 books when it was all said and done.  After choosing her books, Hannah plopped down in the vibrant purple chairs and began to read her books.  Our trip to the library ended with the girls checking out their own books.  Who doesn’t love the beep of checking out books?

I am tempted to take them some other time to the Kalamazoo Public Library.  The Portage Library lacks in beautiful natural light in the children’s section.  The Kalamazoo library has tons of windows in their kids’ section.

Kalamazoo Newborn Photography – Lifestyle Newborn Images of Harper

Another lifestyle newborn session on the blog today. Meet Harper. Harper is one very lucky girl with two incredible big brothers who are always going to look after her.  They are so proud.  Not to mention her parents…the smiles that light up their faces when they look at her at glowing.  She will only be this tiny for such a short time – check out how small she looks on their family room bookcase.  Come back tomorrow to see how resourceful little Ty was when he wanted to see her sister in her crib…crazy adorable I promise.

A Lifestyle Newborn Session with Brady {Kalamazoo newborn photographer}

I love newborn sessions – I get to snuggle those sweet little ones and capture the newness that is so fleeting. Becky Anderson Photography is now offering a new type of newborn session in addition to my signature newborn sessions. A lifestyle newborn session is a 90 minute session capturing your new life with the baby at home.  Lifestyle sessions are unique to YOUR life.  They capture the bright red details of your baseball themed nursery because YOUR family loves the Cubs.  They capture your family on YOUR bed where an exhausted but totally in-love YOU cuddles that baby in the middle of the night.  They capture YOUR kids on the carpet that YOU picked for your family room alongside the beautiful bead board that just brightens up the room.  Enjoy this peek into the life of this new family of four.
