This week I got to spend a beautiful afternoon with Blake and his mom. I love when moms get in the photos too. Often moms are behind the camera capturing their little ones and there is little photographic evidence of their existence. It’s time to change that! Blake is 15 months old and was fun to chase around. At this age, they just want to go and do their own thing. Blake played with a toothbrush, keys, balls, a lens cap and some sticks. The balls seemed to be his favorite (once we we removed his death grip from the toothbrush that seemed destined to be in their images.) My favorite is the genuine laughter and joy in the last one. Our session also ended with a bit of drama and adventure but that is Christa’s story to share.

Another lifestyle newborn session on the blog today. Meet Harper. Harper is one very lucky girl with two incredible big brothers who are always going to look after her. They are so proud. Not to mention her parents…the smiles that light up their faces when they look at her at glowing. She will only be this tiny for such a short time – check out how small she looks on their family room bookcase. Come back tomorrow to see how resourceful little Ty was when he wanted to see her sister in her crib…crazy adorable I promise.
One chilly morning we had the perfect family photo session at Asylum Lake in Kalamazoo. The light was stunning and I love how they coordinated their outfits with fun pops of color. Miss Natalie is a new walker and I love how we captured her midstep. Big Brother Nathan was also willing to help out with her walking. I love this family more than I can say. Enjoy!
The great thing about having a first birthday signature session is there is time to capture the traditional portraits and beautiful interactions but also celebrate the birthday itself. In this blog post, you can see the fun we had with Miss Natalie. She is so adorable and I love her expressions. I also love how she snuggles with her mom. Come back tomorrow for the birthday themed post with balloons and of course a cake smash.
