Full Circle

After living in Gales Ferry for 5 years (with a quick detour thru NYC last year), we will soon be returning to Michigan – a full circle of sorts.   While I am sad to be leaving my friends, clients and favorite places in Southeastern Connecticut, I am thrilled to be able to move my family back to the midwest.  The girls are really excited to be moving much much closer to their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.   This is a new development, and we do not have all of the details yet.  Until I have further information, I am only booking sessions thru October.  In a few weeks, when I have more of a timeline for our move, I will open up dates in November/December as appropriate.  The move will not affect your ability to receive prints and images before the holidays.

If you have always wanted to do a  session with Becky Anderson Photography but have put it off for one reason or another, NOW is the time to book.

And because I don’t like to post without a photo…here are my niece and nephew, my girls’ cousins…it will be so fun for all of them to live in the same town.

Yes, it has been rather quiet over here lately.  I am still here – I promise.

The past month and a half has been crazy in the world of the Andersons.  The beginning of August we went on a family roadtrip back to the midwest.  After family visits, we headed back to NYC to meet the movers.  We moved most of our belongings that were in the city back to a rental house in Connecticut.  We unpacked for a week then headed back to the city for a last hurrah.  Tired yet?  Follow that with returning to CT only to have Irene knock out our power for a week!  The next week was full of back to school activities and trying to unpack and settle.  That weekend I headed out to the Outer Banks for a photographer retreat…the following weekend the whole family headed back into the city for our very own family photo session.  This past weekend we stayed put in CT but half of the family was under the weather.  Phew!!!

We loved our time in NYC and wouldn’t trade that experience for anything.  Someday when I finish my 365 NYC project, I will post a link over here to share.  But we are also happy to be back in southeastern Connecticut in time for school and all of the fall fun.

Our family’s favorite local restaurant (within 2 blocks) on the Upper East Side is Brother Jimmy’s BBQ.  It is nice and loud inside and is very kid friendly.   Here is our last meal at Brother Jimmy’s from last weekend.  You can even see my reflection over on the right in the window.

The same weekend we headed outside early Sunday morning  to take a self-timer photo in our I heart NY tees.  This spot is across from our building and next to our favorite playground.

FINALLY!  This sneak peek has been a long time coming (but no baby isn’t here yet – I am not that late!)  Right after this session, my family moved from NYC back to CT.  Then we were back in NYC for two weeks before school started and I was lacking a computer since my computer now resides in CT.  When I came back to CT, Irene decided to pay us a visit and we were without power for almost 7 days.  We were so excited to have it back on only to lose it for another 10 hours a day later.  It has been a wild ride but I am finally getting back to the grind.

Jessica is one of my closest friends and I was thrilled that one of my trips back home to Kalamazoo coincided with a time that I could shoot a maternity session with her.  Big brother Nathan joined us for a little while before bedtime.  We had beautiful light in her back yard and had a fabulous time catching up.  The bottom center shot was not staged…this was an actual moment caught by chance as I was setting Jess up for some silhouette shots.  Nathan ran right over with “flowers” for mom.  LOVE.  I can’t wait to meet Pepper when she arrives – nicknamed Pepper for spicy food cravings!
