Mine on Monday {CT photographer}

Ok well, Monday came and went sooner than I anticipated. So my post is a little belated.

This is Leah. She is 21 months old and a ball of fire. This quick snap is typical Leah. She is watching Dora…Dora is the center of her world (after her mom of course!). She gets so intent and plays along…Dora tells her to reach up, she does. She yells “Map!” when appropriate…and loves when Swiper appears.

Luckily when we got a new TV last month and mounted it on the wall…she is at least a little further from the screen now…and as an added bonus, no hand or mouth prints on the TV.

Miss Payton – 14 days new {CT newborn photographer}

This is Payton. She was beautiful and so good to me. She was awake and content when I got there then settled into a nice deep sleep for the rest of the session. Look at this perfection! This is a big sneak peek because I just couldn’t decide which photos to share. Congrats to Emily and Brian (and Champ too!)

I loved the story of this blanket. Brian’s Great Grandma, who lived to be 105, made a baby blanket for each of her great-grandchildren to give to their first baby. How sweet is that?!? What a precious gift.

Mine on Monday – Birthday edition {CT children photographer}

This is my first Mine on Monday post.  I got the idea from a friend and fellow photographer, Jaidean of Jaidean Baker Photography.  It gives me a chance to share some of my family with you!

Four years ago today, my first daughter, Hannah, was born.  After 14 hrs and a c-section, Hannah entered this world at 9 lbs, 9 oz.  She was a big girl (and only 18 inches long!)  Now unbelievably, she is a 4 year old.

-likes Dora and princesses

-takes swim lessons and dance class

-loves school, especially the day she gets to stay and eat lunch

-could listen to Laurie Berkner every day, all day

-loves books and has learned to write her name.

-loves playing games with my husband and I after the little one goes to bed.  Uno, Candyland, Chutes and ladders, bingo and more.

Go BIG!!!

My friend Amy of Amy Ro Photography out of Providence put together this wonderful blog post with great visual examples of why you should order bigger than an 8×10!!!

I hesitated for a long time to put up anything bigger than an 8×10 in my house too.  I babystepped to an 11×14 of a family photo.  Then I wanted to go even bigger.  Now I have two 16×20 canvases of my girls and I LOVE LOVE LOVE how big they are.  I love looking at their smiling faces bigger than life.  Check out Amy’s post and see what you think!

Stay tuned for another post with photos of my girls on canvas!!!!!

14 days new {CT newborn photographer}

We first met baby Sam here during a stunning maternity session with his mom. Well, the wait is over and little Sam is here!!! He was very alert and didn’t want to sleep at all. He was also very strong – trying to lift up his head. Welcome Sam and congrats to the whole family!

This gorgeous blanket was made by a friend of the family.

The proud big sister! About thrity seconds before this photo, Sam was crying and we weren’t sure he was going to cooperate for the sibling shot. Then he must have realized he was with his big sister and he calmed right down.
