Yoga mama {Kalamazoo maternity photographer}

Sometimes a session just completely inspires me.  When Anna contacted me about her maternity photos, I was giddy with excitement.  Not only do I love maternity images but throw in some incredible yoga poses?  Awesomeness.  It was so hard to pick favorites from this session.  Bonus of my inability to decide…?  You get to see a LOT of Anna’s gorgeous session.  It was fun to explore some different processing for this session as well.  A facebook poll was split between my normal processing and the hazy dreamy processing.  I love them both for different reasons.

87 Days of Summer – Part I {Days 1-20}

There are many different photo projects out there.  I have participated in many: 365, 52 weeks, 10 on 10 and more.  I did the 365 project with an app called my365, capturing one image everyday.  Using my phone only made it less of a commitment and I always have my phone with me.   .  I am happy to say I completed it with a very high success rate – capturing 97% of the days if I remember correctly.  Now the 52 weeks project was a different story.  The object of my 52 weeks project was one photo each week for a whole year…the photo had to be of me and my children.  As the photographer in the family, I am often not in many photos.  One year I made it to 12 and the next year I made it to 3 or 4.   Someday I may try again but not any time soon.

This year I decided that I really wanted to capture our summer.  I saw some people posting about the 100 days of summer…but I decided to be more exact.  From the last day of school in the spring to the first day of school in the fall, my kids and I have 87 days.  Hence my 87 days of summer project.  My goal is to mostly take shots with my camera as opposed to my phone.  But I am human and sometimes the phone works just as well for the purpose of the project.

Enjoy days 1 thru 20.

Beautiful Summer Family Portraits in Crane Park – Becky Anderson Photography

Late spring and early summer is a beautiful time in Kalamazoo for family portraits.  Crane Park is full of flowers and everything is so green.  We had fun wandering thru the gardens and taking photos.  Brynn took a little bit to warm up but Miles was ready to go from the start.  I love how family sessions can capture the shyness, the laughter, the silliness and occasionally a little sass.  At the end as always at Crane Park, we did a little tree climbing in the coolest tree in the gardens.  It is always a favorite of the kids.

Lifestyle Newborn Featuring Danielle {Becky Anderson Photography}

Lifestyle newborn sessions make me so happy. I adore capturing the realness of life with a newborn. I love the fly on the wall feel to this style of images.  They are only this small for such a short amount of time.  I love that this family can look back on these photos and remember what it was like when Danielle first came home – how small she looked on the changing table, how her big brother loved her so much already…

10 on 10 {Becky Anderson Photography}

This month for my ten on ten I have to include some last day of school photos.  If not for photography, I would not have realized how big of a change my girls made this year…they have grown up so much.  Photography captures moments in time and allows us to compare.  Then we follow up with a typical crazy evening in our house.  Grilled pizza, a game of tag, plenty of time on the playset and one good (?) bird dog.

Be sure to click thru and see Antonieta Esis Photography‘s take on 10 on 10.

Oh Becky…fun day! It is amazing how our children grow up so fast as the school year goes. how beautiful that we can document all this for them and us. :)

I love how you have their first and last day images. I have never done that! So funny for me to see kids not in a uniform.
