It is that time again for the Chasing Moments Blog Circle. As professional photographers, we often get busy and forget to capture our own lives and families. Some fellow photographers and I are trying our best to keep on top of our personal photos and memories (cobbler’s kids with no shoes kind of thing)…this month we may have delayed a couple of weeks but it is that crazy, busy time of year that everyone wants family sessions.
Fall weekends are busy with soccer and photography sessions but this weekend we took a quick trip (after soccer on Saturday and home in time for an evening session on Sunday) down to my in-laws in Illinois. This was one of the only weekends that we could make it down for harvest time.
We went right out to the cornfields to see Poppy. The girls took turns riding the combine with Poppy and tractor/grain cart with JB. It was fun for them to see how it all works…we even followed the truck out to the grain elevator. The girls may have chatted the entire time in the field. And a certain 5 year old may or may not have shut off the combine by turning the key while it was harvesting…and a certain grandpa may have had to count to ten. Oh to be a fly in the combine…
The girls also spent time on the 4 wheelers this weekend…after a few ping pong lessons. This was the first time that Leah rode the little 4 wheeler – Hannah has been riding it awhile and loving every minute. The girls also took turns riding with cousin Caleb on the big one.
We also came home with some freshly picked apples.
Lexi had a great time retrieving her duck at the pond too. I had a little photoshop fun and combined three consecutive images into one. She is quite the leaper.
It was a beautiful 20 hours.
