Tried It Tuesday: Spray Painted Lamp Makeover

This is the lamp that I have been stalking at Target. It has yet to go on sale…so I decided to be inspired by pinterest once again and paint my existing bedroom lamps.

These brushed silver lamps are AT LEAST 9 years old but probably older. I am tired of them and wanted something to perk up our room after buying a quilt to go with the existing blue wall color. Funny enough, these lamps are still available at Target in various sizes. Guess that means they are still in style? ha!

I bought a can of Krylon Indoor/Outdoor Gloss Spray Paint in Bauhaus Gold. I taped them up with painter’s tape and sprayed away in my garage. Note to self: Next time, shove the entire cord into a plastic bag and then tape that and exposed cord. It took me forever to untape the cord.

And voila! (The window light is doing funny things to the wall and lamp but I assure you that it is a perfect paint job! And please excuse the photos as they were taken on my phone.)

Inspired by this post. Aren’t those lamps fabulous?

Brilliant! Pretty sure I have those same lamps (or at least really similar brushed nickel ones that I am over. They still work great, might have to try that.
