Woo-hoo! Blog posts from me two days in a row!
Last night we decorated our Christmas tree. All of our decorations are in storage in CT so we started from scratch this year. What better colors to decorate the tree that aqua and pink – two of Hannah’s favorites. We bought decorations from Target…and although I know that we bought the $5 tube o’ornaments, do I really have to tie the strings on myself? Really, Target?!?! After a bunch of tying by the adults in the family, the munchkins in the family grabbed stools and got to the ornament hanging with very little help from us. I absolutely adore how the tree turned out. Love the big cluster of ornaments right in the middle. We have plans to make some paper chains to further decorate it and I still can’t decide on hanging candy canes. Hannah always left them alone but I imagine that Leah will keep stealing them from the tree, and I will find half-eaten, sticky candy cane pieces all over the apartment, in the laundry, in the toilet and the list goes on and on.
Everyday on the way to preschool, we walk by a guy selling Christmas trees. I really wanted to buy one. Just felt like the thing to do in NYC. (I grew up with fake trees and have continued the tradition) But then I assumed that surely the building didn’t want us to have real trees (fire hazard and just a big mess of needles – plus what about disposal?) so we bought a fake one. Imagine my dismay, when I entered our elevator two days later to a ton of pine needles on the floor. I am making myself feel better by telling myself that someone bought a lovely wreath that shed all over the elevator. I do plan on buying the cute reindeer that he makes out of tree scrap…but of course, as soon as I decide I want one, he hasn’t been making them. I will ask this afternoon on the way back from picking up Hannah.
All of these snapshots were taken with my new camera. I love the way it handles noise. I took these at ISO 2500 and didn’t run any noiseware on them. In fact, the sharpen for web action that I use may have even increased the evidence of noise. Don’t mind the nice tv glow on Leah in the last one.
