Coke vs Pepsi

We have a debate in our family…Coke vs. Pepsi.  I am a Coke girl all of the way.  You know, the person who asked the server for a coke and when they ask “Is pepsi ok?”  I reply “I’ll just have water.”  Yep, that kind of Coke girl.  And I married a diet Coke kind of guy (though he will drink pepsi if they don’t have coke).   My college exclusively sold Pepsi (cafeteria, vending machines, etc.) and I drank Mountain Dew exclusively for 4 years.

Now our Illinois relatives love Pepsi.  So when I saw the Pepsi building across from the Coke building (in Vegas) I had to take a couple of photos!

Perhaps the funniest thing was when I opened these photos on my computer…Hannah was looking at the Coke photo and wanted to know “What is that beer thing?”  Not sure what is more amusing to me…that she has no idea that soda (soda in CT = pop in MI) used to come in glass bottles or that when she sees a glass bottle she thinks it is beer.

Feel free to sound off in the comment section as to whether you are Team Coke or Team Pepsi!

Las Vegas 2010

As many of you know, a couple of weeks ago I went to a photography conference in Las Vegas.  It was a fabulous trip.  Not only did I get totally inspired by the many photographers that were speaking at the event…I was also inspired by these fun ladies…my roomies and fellow photog friends!!!

I had met Kim and Laura before – last fall – but I feel like I have known the others forever even if we haven’t met in person.  Check out their blogs and be inspired!!! (PS if you love dogs like I do, be sure to check out Bernadette’s blog and April’s  blog.)

One afternoon we got out of the conference center at the MGM Grand and went on a little excursion.  It was great to walk around with our cameras.

I remember (in my former life) going to national chemistry conferences and joking about how you could totally walk down the street and point out the chemists. It is true…many chemists are very stereotypical scientists. Well during this conference, you could also walk down the street and point out the photographers…big cameras everywhere. We took a quick self-portrait in a mirrored window.

Family Fun at Avery Point {CT family photographer}

The weather this weekend was so beautiful and I was excited to get outside for a session with this family.  We were supposed to have a session the previous weekend but all of that rain made us reschedule.  While it was a bit cooler and windier by the water, they were troopers.  Seriously, could this family be any more photogenic?  I was looking through the photos from the session and was amazed by their comfort in front of the camera.   At the end of our session, they all took turns jumping off of a bench for me…even Mom and Dad.  Hard to say who had the most fun but it was probably Aiden.  Thank you Ashley and Heather for joining me with your family this weekend!

Mine on Monday {CT child photographer}

Let’s all close our eyes and pretend that my baby’s nursery is not a cave and not orange (aaack! – color casts!) and that my baby is still a baby.  I know she is almost 2…and my husband says I baby her.  Maybe I do…I am not ready for her to be a big girl yet.  And surprisingly this little monkey has yet to climb out of her crib…so in it she stays.  And in other Mine on Monday news, my big girl is sick…she finally stopped throwing up and is asleep on the couch.  I am off to find my camera and perhaps you will see her sleeping sometime soon!

1 year later {CT baby photographer}

So I teased yesterday with Ayden’s newborn photo with his daddy. Well today you get to see how much difference 1 single year makes!

I turned the original to black and white for comparison (and if I am being truthful – the green blanket always bothered me but he fell asleep for just a second and we weren’t willing to remove it and wake him until we got the shot.)

One year ago…

Two days ago…When Ayden reached up to touch his daddy’s hat…I thought to myself, it couldn’t get more perfect than that…plus how could you not love those chubby arms and legs?!?

Then he looked at me….and I was in love.
